Playa Blanca Information This
tranquil resort has a real relaxed atmosphere and is ideally
suited to quiet family holidays. An old fishing village, Playa
Blanca is nowadays one of the most important tourist centres on
the island. Various attractive beaches make up this part of the
coast. Playa Blanca is a beach of golden sand, easy to access from
the promenade, which ends where the port of Playa Blanca begins.
In the quaint commercial centre, green-shuttered white buildings
line the attractive waterfront walk, with its old-fashioned
lampposts and pavement bars. Visitors to the beach can take their
pick from the sandy bays nearby, or the central sun traps and
gentle water of Playa Dorada. At night, travellers can choose to
while away there evenings in one of the areas traditional bars or
cafes. For those who wish to venture out of the resort, regular
ferries run from the town harbour to Fuerteventura, and the
island's Timanfaya National Park is easily accessible.
Costa Teguise Information The
resort of Costa Teguise is modern and purpose-built, and is a
favourite with travellers who enjoy watersports. The constant
breeze across the bay makes this location ideal for windsurfing.
The resort is located on the Eastern coastline of the island, and
features the Las Cucharas beach ideal for those holidaymakers who
wish to just relax and enjoy the sunshine. There are in fact 4
beaches in total including 2 smaller ones separated by a small
headland from the main beach. There are a large variety of tourist
shops, international style restaurants including Mexican and
Chinese and bars although these tend to be for the holidaymaker
looking for low -key nightlife. For the more active, in addition
to a wide variety of watersports, there is a Water Park and a
horse -riding centre. For those of you who are looking for an
alternative to watersports, an 18-hole golf course can be found
just 2 kilometres away from the resort centre. For sightseeing and
an alternative to Costa Teguise there is an hourly bus service
into Arrecife.
Playa Los Pocillos
Information The
ideal location, between Puerto del Carmen and Matagorda, if you
want to avoid the bright lights and nightlife of Puerto del Carmen
next door, but still near enough to enjoy a good night out. Playa
de los Pocillos is popular for its excellent southfacing, gently
shelving beach, and relaxed atmosphere which is particularly
attractive to families. The large sandy beach is blissful and
fronts the length of the resort It is host to an abundance of
watersports and towards Matagorda the windsurfing is wonderful for
the beginner. Evenings are quiet, with a small number of bars and
restaurants lining the promenade. There are shops, bars and
restaurants in the centre and a regular bus service to Puerto del
Carmen.
Puerto del Carmen
Information Commercial resort the ideal location for night
life and beach holidays, can be found to be a hilly resort
depending on the location of your hotel, the more relaxed old town
has a nice harbour with sea excursions available and good fish
restaurants. The best restaurant to eat is in the old town for is
the El Tomate, try the meat. |
